Paramount+ has released the trailer for upcoming UK original series ‘The Castaways’ starring Sheridan Smith.
The adaption of the best-selling novel sees sisters Lori (Sheridan Smith) and Erin (Celine Buckens) as they set off on the holiday of a lifetime in Fiji. After a huge fight, Erin never boards the island-hopping flight to their tropical resort and the plane, with Lori on board, fails to arrive at its destination. With disaster and devastation laced throughout the gripping trailer and epic introduction to the series, thrown into the wake of the plane crash we see those who make it off the aircraft alive faced with the startling reality of – quite literally – fighting for survival on a deserted island.
Meanwhile, unable to give up on her sister who is presumed dead, Erin is relentless in her mission to uncover the truth to the plane’s disappearance.
‘The Castaways’ also stars Brendan Cowell as the plane’s pilot Mike Brass alongside Lasarus Ratuere as Felix Vatabua. Dominic Tighe plays Daniel Eldridge while Charlotte Vega portrays Amber Gordon.
The series is produced and adapted by Clapperboard Studios and BlackBox Multimedia. International distribution for the series will be handled by BBC Studios. It is written by Ben Harris (‘Young Wallender’) and directed by Andy and Ryan Tohill (‘Dalgliesh’).
‘The Castaways’ box set is available exclusively on Paramount+ from Boxing Day (26th December 2023).
