Austin Moody releases the authentic ‘Tennessee Christmas’ in a nod to Country music roots

Country music artist Austin Moody, hailing from East Tennessee, has recently announced the release of his rendition of ‘Tennessee Christmas,’ a song deeply rooted in the traditions of country music. This homage to the genre’s cultural and regional influences maintains authenticity while injecting a fresh perspective into the holiday theme originally written by Gary Chapman and Amy Grant.

The track is a standout feature on the EP project titled ‘Old Fashioned Christmas,’ a collection of classic holiday song covers backed by Duke Spirits. Executive produced by Chris Radomski, the founder of Duke Spirits, and produced by Austin Moody with contributions from Mitch Burr and Elisha Hoffman, the 6-song EP is a musical journey curated with precision. Duke Spirits, renowned for their award-winning ultra-premium bourbon, rye, and tequila, is an artisan distiller committed to preserving the legacy of American icon John Wayne. Their dedication is reflected in the meticulous crafting of spirits using decades-old recipes and bottles from John Wayne’s archives, encapsulating the enduring ideals he stood for.

Reflecting on the inspiration behind ‘Tennessee Christmas,’ Austin Moody shares, “My childhood Christmas memories go back to the Appalachian Mountains in East Tennessee. Since moving away, I have traveled to many amazing places, but nothing comes close to spending Christmas in Tennessee. This song always takes me home for Christmas and to cherished memories.”

In a nod to Austin Moody’s contribution to country music, CMA, ACM, and Grammy Award-winning producer Keith Stegall remarked, “At a moment when Country music seems to be working through an identity crisis, Austin reminds us that its genesis is simply pure and honest.”

Acclaimed singer/songwriter and award-winning producer Mac McAnally added, “Austin Moody is a rare combination of a bunch of good things. He reveres traditional country music and has a natural connection with classic rock and roll ALA Tom Petty. Put that together with an all-American work ethic and blue-collar spirit, and you get somebody you want to know with some music you want to hear.”
