British music icons Squeeze are set to embark on a massive UK tour in 2024 to celebrate their extraordinary 50-year milestone. Known for crafting some of the smartest and sweetest guitar-pop during the rock & roll era, Squeeze will treat fans to a journey through their extensive back catalogue, featuring hits and rare gems. Joining them on this historic tour as a special guest is the acclaimed Badly Drawn Boy.
Tickets for this momentous tour go on sale on December 1st at 10:00 AM via Gigs and Tours and Ticketmaster.
Squeeze, led by songwriting duo Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, has been a vital institution in rock, creating vibrantly melodic and perceptive songs. Hits like ‘Up the Junction,’ ‘Cool for Cats,’ ‘Another Nail in My Heart,’ ‘Hourglass,’ and ‘Tempted’ have solidified Difford and Tilbrook’s reputation as the “next Lennon and McCartney.”
In the 1990s, Squeeze continued to deliver exquisitely crafted records, including ‘Play,’ ‘Some Fantastic Place,’ ‘Ridiculous,’ and ‘Domino.’ After reuniting in 2007, they released vigorous comeback albums like ‘Cradle to the Grave’ and ‘The Knowledge.’ Throughout the early 2020s, Squeeze has stayed on the road, even recording the ‘Food for Thought’ charity EP in 2022 to support food banks.
For their 50th anniversary tour, Squeeze is once again supporting The Trussell Trust, a charity providing emergency food and support. Fans are encouraged to bring food donations to the shows, with collection points available at each venue. Donations will be distributed to people in crisis across the Trussell Trust network of food banks.
Joining the celebration is Badly Drawn Boy, a cherished UK songwriter who recently marked 25 years of releasing music. His set will feature a career-spanning selection of hits and fan favorites.
The 27-date nationwide tour will culminate at London’s Royal Albert Hall. This tour is just part of Squeeze’s 50th-anniversary celebrations, with Difford and Tilbrook also working on new material and exploring unreleased archives.
