Get ready for a fresh twist on the familiar as HIXTAPE makes its highly anticipated return with a vibrant makeover in ‘John Deere Green. The third installment, aptly named ‘HIXTAPE Vol. 3: DIFFTAPE,’ is set to launch on March 29, 2024. This edition pays tribute to the legendary GRAMMY and CMA Award-winning catalog of country icon Joe Diffie.
Parker Diffie, Joe’s eldest son, unveiled the exciting news live from the CMA Awards stage. The announcement came just before the electrifying performances by HARDY, Post Malone, and Morgan Wallen, showcasing two DIFFTAPE tunes. HIXTAPE Vol. 3 ingeniously weaves together 2006 master recordings of Diffie’s greatest hits with brand-new recordings from some of country music’s biggest stars and more.
The Diffie Estate expresses its enthusiasm for the collaboration, partnering with Big Loud and HARDY to preserve and revitalize Joe Diffie’s musical legacy. The Estate shares, “With their shared excitement and passion, this collaboration promises to carry on the incredible journey of a true legend.”
HARDY, the creative force behind DIFFTAPE, shares his excitement, saying, “I’m super excited about DIFFTAPE. I think it’s a one-of-a-kind project, and we’re the first people to do something like this. Especially having the original recordings and the fact that we have his family’s blessing to do it, it’s all really special.”
Reflecting on Joe Diffie’s impact on ’90s country, HARDY emphasizes, “Joe epitomized the ’90s country voice – he was so good about hearing and cutting hits, recording amazing songs.” Sharing a personal connection, HARDY recalls his first encounter with Joe, stating, “On a personal level, I only got to meet Joe once, but he was extremely nice to me, and this was in my first year of being an artist when I was an absolute nobody. He was so, so kind to me, and that memory I have of him is truly special to me too.”
