The trailer has been released for director Fernando Frías de la Parra’s (‘I’m No Longer Here’) new Netflix film “I Don’t Expect Anyone To Believe Me”.
Based on the novel by Juan Pablo Villalobos, the film stars Darío Yazbek Bernal (‘La casa de las flores’) alongside Alexis Ayala, Juan Minujín, Carmen Beato, Anna Castillo, Natalia Solián, Ivano Palatucci and Antonia Robolini.
Juan Pablo travels with his girlfriend Valentina to study a PhD in Literature in Barcelona. But before he leaves Mexico, he gets involved in a criminal network, which inspires him to write the novel of his dreams, while his life takes absurd and sinister turns.
The trailer teases a rather strange film that looks set to have you scratching your head. It looks a little Wes Anderson to us but take a look and see for yourself!
“I Don’t Expect Anyone to Believe Me” will be released on Netflix on 22nd November 2023.
