Roblox: the top 5 obbys you can play right now

There are about a bazillion obbys to choose from in Roblox. Many are bland and boring and are often clones of the same obby over and over again making it hard for the good ones to stand out. I think there are so many similar obbys out there as they are the easiest thing to create in the Roblox Studio. There are, however, some absolutely brilliant obbys available to play if you can find them. I’ve spent a fair bit of time playing the different obbys available and below are my top 5 that you can play right now.

For anyone new to Roblox here’s a quick explanation as to what an obby is. An obby is, quite simply, an obstacle course that you need to get around in order to complete it. They can include jumps, climbing, guessing games and trampolines to name just a few obstacles. Given the almost unlimited options within Roblox, many have their own themes and in the better ones, you can really feel the love the developers have put into them.

As ever with these sorts of lists they are completely subjective, these are my favourite obbys and you may disagree with my choices. If this is the case I’m afraid you’re completely and utterly wrong, these are the best ones! In all seriousness though if I’ve missed any obbys off my list that you are passionate about let us know on Twitter or Facebook and perhaps they’ll feature in a future list.

So let’s start our list…

1. Minions Adventure Obby

Minions Adventure Obby by Shovelware Studios makes it onto my list for several reasons. First is the sheer amount of effort that has gone into making it. This is not your standard obby and the production values on display are very high. I’m pretty sure Universal hasn’t given permission for the use of the Despicable Me / Minions theme but that’s something for someone else to worry about!

This obby is about speed and plays in a similar way to Sonic the Hedgehog games. There are loads of objects to increase your speed and you leg it around the obby jumping and spinning into enemies to kill them. It’s a fast and furious affair broken up by cutscenes to flesh out the story and also with the odd boss battle too.

2. Tower of Hell

Tower of Hell by YXCeptional Studios needs to be included in this list as it has quite a novel approach to the obby genre. The levels in Tower of Hell are procedurally generated so each level is different. Added to this there is a time limit to complete each level before the whole thing collapses and a new level is generated.

The levels are challenging and frustrating as if you fall off you end up at the bottom of the tower with the whole thing to try and climb again. There is also the added frustration of other players bumping into you and pushing you about. This is quite a high-pressure obby environment and not one to play if you want to relax!

3. Mega Fun Obby

Mega Fun Obby by Bloxtun has to be included simply because of the sheer scale of the thing. It’s more of a traditional obby but has a whopping 2010 stages. If you’ve got an itch to play a mahoosive obby then Mega Fun Obby has you covered though I don’t recommend playing all 2010 stages in one sitting!

4. Obstacle Paradise

Obstacle Paradise by I-C-T Studios is a slightly different take on the obby genre. Obstacle Paradise not only allows you to play other people’s obbys but you can also create your own. As time ticks by you accumulate money that can spent on new obstacles for your very own obby. It’s really easy to use and very quickly you’ll be putting stages together.

There are loads of objects to choose from and you can colour everything your own way to make it unique to you. If you really get into it there are packs you can buy with robux offering even more options.

5. The Really Easy Obby

Finally, we have The Really Easy Obby by GFink. First off, this isn’t a really easy obby, you’ve been fooled by the name! I really, really like The Really Easy Obby and it’s definitely my favourite obby to play right now. I like it as there has clearly been a lot of thought put into it. This is not your standard obby and there are obstacles in here that I haven’t seen in other obbys before.

It has a really nice relaxing feel which is exaggerated by the chilled-out soundtrack but doesn’t be fooled. Many of the obstacles are challenging and have hidden elements to them meaning you’ll be wanting to launch your controller of choice out of the window in no time!

So, there you have it, my top 5 obbys you can play right now on Roblox. Hopefully, you’ll take the time to check out at least one if not all of them. If you do then please let us know your thoughts on Twitter or Facebook.
