Chase Rice opens up about his battle to be taken seriously in music

Chase Rice is opening the Main Stage at C2C: Country to Country 2019 and before he took to the stage, he sat down with press to talk about his career and his music.

He talked about his unconventional road to success which took him to TV as a contestant on Survivor and a job at NASCAR. After moving to Nashville he lived with Brian from Florida Georgia Line and wrote their huge hit Cruise, which started off his career as an artist.

“It’s funny, you start selling places out then people want to talk to you,” Rice revealed while discussing how he built up his fan base starting with small shows.

He admitted he was a little nervous to be performing with his band for the first time in the UK today. Rice has been embraced by his UK fans during his tours the past year or so, so he’s nothing to worry about!

Rice opened up about how being on Survivor hindered his switch to music. “It hurt a lot to begin with, no one took me seriously,” he said. “That led me to find my own guys and do this on my own.”

He told us, “I didn’t want that to be my path. I didn’t want it to be about a TV show or a TV personality, just about the music.”

Chase Rice performs on the C2C Main Stage today at The O2 Arena in London.
