In today’s music scene the phrase featuring (or ft for short) is common place.

Whether it’s a pop diva adding a rapper du jour or a dance music producer featuring an up-n-coming vocalist, it’s a trend that doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon.

One person that has been killing it as a featured artist is Demi Lovato and as she looks likely to bag her first UK no.1 this week with her Clean Bandit collaboration, we pick our 5 favourite featuring Demi Lovato songs.

Instruction – Jax Jones ft Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don

With all the hype around Love Island, I’m feeling a bit body inadequate and what better way to get fit than a bit of zumbaesque dance track complete with instructions.  Demi is the fitness instructor and she’s getting us winding to the left, swaying to the right etc.  It’s catchy as hell and brings with it a real carnival vibe.

Solo – Clean Bandit ft Demi Lovato

As mentioned earlier,  the latest ft Demi Lovato track is her collaboration with Clean Bandit which has a great chance of giving Demi her first UK no.1 single as, at the time of writing it’s currently sitting pretty at no.2.  It’s a summery smash that seems to blend Ace of Base with Avicii in the verses and bridge before using clever vocal distortions in the chorus.  Do you wanna whoop, whoop, whoop?

Up – Olly Murs ft Demi Lovato

Back to one of the first UK hits to ft Demi Lovato, Up, a duet with Olly Murs, is a folk tinged pop song dealing with relationships.  With Olly in charge of the verses, Demi’s powerful voice is softer on this track and sounds gorgeous as she delivers the choruses and harmonies.  It’s a cool little song for the summer (yes we went there!)

Fall in Line – Christina Aguilera ft Demi Lovato

Demi is an Xtina stan so it’s dream come true time for her as she unites her powerhouse vocals with Ms Pipes herself, Christina Aguilera.  It’s a female empowerment song with a trippy beat and distorted male voice giving orders such as ‘shut your mouth, stick your ass out for me’.  Demi sexes it up on the second verse before the pair of divas build to a crescendo in the middle 8.  The video sees them in kick-ass mode, escaping their oppressive captors and reclaiming their freedom.  Girl power for the naughteens!

Échame La Culpa – Luis Fonsi ft Demi Lovato

Luis Fonsi was of course responsible for last year’s monster hit Despacito and now he’s at it again but this time it’s Demi who provides her vocals to sing alongside Luis in both Spanish and English.  A second version of the track with Luis also singing in English was made called Not on You, but we still prefer the original.
