Andrew Lincoln, Keira Knightley & Richard Curtis give Love Actually fans an ‘Omazing’ experience

Love Actually – the best Christmas rom-com of all time, recently ran a charity campaign that came to fruition for two lucky fans.

It’s the scene from festive rom-com Love Actually that makes hearts flip and tears swell. The moment when Andrew Lincoln appears on Kiera Knightley’s doorstep to declare his unrequited love for her.

For Porter Merriman and her guest Kate Merriman from Mill Valley, California, this
heart-wrenching scene came true this week thanks to an incredible fundraising campaign run by charity phenomenon Omaze.com in aid of Comic Relief.

Porter and Kate had been one of thousands of Love Actually fans worldwide to bid for the experience on Omaze.com, which creates once-in- a-lifetime experiences and exclusive merchandise in support of many charities worldwide.

Omaze partnered with the Love Actually cast in aid of Comic Relief to support their fundraising efforts globally, running this campaign earlier in 2017 following Comic Relief’s one-off Love Actually special.

Porter and Kate’s bid was drawn out and the friends jetted to London to be met at Heathrow by British film director Richard Curtis. Richard then whisked them to a house in Notting Hill where they met Keira Knightley for casual tea. When the doorbell rang, both women were aghast at seeing Andrew Lincoln standing with poster boards, just as he did in the movie!

The pair were given a tour of Notting Hill including the famous blue door and enjoyed a traditional British Christmas feast with Kiera, Andrew and
Richard.

Omaze is a global phenomenon, an online fundraising platform that is set to raise nearly $100,000,000 for critical causes by the end of 2017.

Omaze makes giving fun and easy by offering once-in-a-lifetime experiences with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Current experiences on offer include meeting James Corden on the set of his L.A. show, meeting the cast of Game of Thrones at the final season premiere, or playing mini-golf with super-band U2.

Omaze is galvanising the world’s biggest stars in aid of good causes. One such
cause is Julia’s House in Dorset. This small children’s hospice was able
to raise $2M for a new facility in Wiltshire thanks to a Robert Downey Jr (Captain America: Civil War) campaign on Omaze.
