© 2016 Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.

Christmas is approaching fast which means there’s not many shopping days left to buy gifts. Buying for gaming fans can sometimes seem tricky if you don’t know what games they already own.

We’ll let you in on a secret, gamers don’t just want more games they also love any gift that is gaming related. There’s literally endless things we could have suggested here.

Below are 10 of our favourite gaming related items to buy for Christmas this year. We’ve tried to include a variety of items to suit all budgets and ages. Take a look at our choices:

BlazeTab Plus Android Retro Gaming Tablet

The BlazeTab Plus is the spiritual successor to the JXD S7800b and the original BlazeTab. It retains all the original functionality while featuring improved hardware and at the same price. This is a powerful Android retro gaming tablet capable of playing even the most complex of retro games, including Amiga, PS1, N64, MAME and Dreamcast as well as Android games including Minecraft, Max Payne, Half Life, Dead Trigger 2 and even displaying these on your TV via HDMI. A fabulous gift choice for retro gaming fans. Check out FunstockRetro for more retro gaming gift ideas.

KontrolFreek Performance Thumbsticks

KontrolFreek creates products that help competitive gamers win. Their performance thumbsticks come in a variety of colours, shapes and sizes. These clip onto the thumbsticks of your gamepad to give extra height and grip for more control and accuracy. You really have to try them out to believe it but we wouldn’t play without them. They are also available in custom designs to tie-in with new game releases. The two newest ones are for Call of Duty: WWII and Destiny 2.
Prices start around £10.

PlayStation Anthology

Fans of PlayStation or even just gaming in general would be delighted to add this stunning book to their collection. Sony’s PlayStation console was a game-changer when it released. This book delves into the history of the console and takes a look at the games and hardware. It’s jam-packed with interesting information and features some excellent interviews as well. A great book to read over Christmas, check it out at Amazon UK.

PlayStation VR

We keep being told that Virtual Reality is the future. Until recently the price of entry was well out of reach for most users as it required an expensive PC on-top of the also expensive VR hardware. Sony changed that with the introduction of the PlayStation VR for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. It’s still expensive but if you already own the console it’s well worth it. This should be top of all PlayStation fans wishlists this year.

Seagate Game Drive

Any gamer that owns a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will tell you the pain of managing space to install games. The simple solution is to add more space and both consoles now let you do that with an external USB Hard Drive. The Game Drive from Seagate comes in a variety of storage sizes to expand your console. More space is always better but it’s also possible to add multiple drives over time. We’d recommend 2TB drives at the moment for the best value for money. However, if you can stretch to it, the 4TB or 8TB drives will last you longer.

Secretlab Gaming Chairs

Gaming usually requires sitting down for long periods of time. We all know that sitting is bad for us so it’s worth investing in a decent chair to support your body properly. The new gaming chair range from Secretlab is insanely comfortable and after trying the Secretlab Titan we wouldn’t want to sit on anything else, ever. While expensive they are built to last and there’s currently a sale on for Christmas with up to 33% discount.
Prices start at £350

Scuf Gaming Controller

Serious gamers will do whatever it takes to get that extra competitive edge on their rivals. One change that makes a world of difference is going for a premium custom controller. These are expensive but the extra customisation options make them well worth it. Just a few tweaks can be the difference between struggling and dominating. The controllers from Scuf Gaming are the best we’ve tried and we’re happy to recommend them.
Prices start at £99.99

Slither IO Toys

If you play online mobile games then there’s a good chance you’ve come across the incredibly addictive It’s essentially a big free-to-play multiplayer version of the classic Snake. If you’re buying for someone who plays it regularly they’ll be delighted to receive anything from the new toy range.

Venom Controller Charging Kits

Game controllers need lots of batteries which are expensive or endless charging. Venom make a variety of different charging stations that allow you to charge multiple controllers at once. Simply pop your controllers on a charging station in between games and they’ll be ready for your next gaming session. They are also a lot tidier than having USB charging wires all over the floor.
