The MTV Staying Alive Foundation, in partnership with Dallas Contemporary and The Goss-Michael Foundation, have announced that the seventh annual MTV RE:DEFINE benefit (a world-premiere art exhibition, auction, and gala presented by NorthPark Center) is set to take place on 13th April 2018 in CenterPark Garden.
The benefit will feature an exclusive performance by Simon De Pury, who will also lead the live auction. The event will be hosted by Joyce Goss and Kenny Goss and chaired by Maxine Trowbridge and Brooke Davenport.
The 2018 exhibition will feature over 50 art works from some of the biggest contemporary artists of the planet including Tracey Emin, Richard Phillips, Francesco Clemente and Enoc Perez to name a few. The event also marks the 20th anniversary of the MTV Staying Alive Foundation and Dallas Contemporary’s 40th.
MTV RE:DEFINE has raised over $10m for HIV prevention since its inception in 2011 through MTV Staying Alive , the Dallas arts community and Dallas Contemporary. Contributions have come from the likes of Marc Quinn, Michael Craig Martin, Tracey Emin, Sarah Lucas, Nate Lowman, Sterling Ruby, Enoc Perez, Damien Hirst and many others.
Peter Doroshenko, Executive Director of Dallas Contemporary, remarked: “MTV RE:DEFINE is always the best extravaganza for great food, the best contemporary art, and iconic rock n’ roll – it’s a Dallas event like no other. Tracey Emin will push the limits of cool Britannia and the event’s electric vibe.”
“The Dallas community has been such a huge supporter of MTV RE:DEFINE over the years, and we’re thrilled to bring MTV RE:DEFINE back to Dallas again as part of MTV Staying Alive’s 20th anniversary celebrations,” said Georgia Arnold, Executive Director, MTV Staying Alive Foundation.
