Star Trek: Discovery premiered last week and the first two episodes picked up plenty of critical acclaim.
The latest addition to the Star Trek franchise stars Sonequa Martin-Green as Lieutenant Commander Michael Burnham, a human brought up as a Vulcan. The premiere established the war between Burnham and the Klingons, that will be the central focus of the show.

Star Trek: Discovery follows the voyages of Starfleet on their missions to discover new worlds and new lifeforms, and one Starfleet officer who must learn that to truly understand all things alien, you must first understand yourself.
The two-part opener may have been slow to get going but it established a rich world that the series will explore and delivered a few jaw-to-the-floor moments. It also gave us a look at how Burnham became the person she is today as she betrayed her own mentor in a bid to protect the crew.
New episodes premiere on Netflix in the UK on Mondays, less than a day after the episodes have aired in the US.
