C4’s top 10 Grime anthems

C4 has one of the most distinctive flow and adlibs in Grime. Hailing from Birmingham himself and older brother Preditah who is a producer, have quickly become two of the fastest rising names in Grime music. His debut single ‘Off Track’ released in 2012 saw Grime veterans and kingpins BBK jump on the remix, making his name quickly respected within the scene and amongst other artists too. He caught up with EF and has revealed some of his favourite Grime anthems. Keep reading to listen to these classics.

10. D Double E – Frontline

The best. Very deep freestyle. Probably the first grime freestyle I loved so much to know all the words.

9. Essentials – State Your Name (Remix)

One of my favourite anthems because of the different of MC’s, all with their own style. All doing bits at that time. How all the MC’s are introduced before they MC. The beat is futuristic as well. Too sick fam. How D Double comes in as well. Jheeze.

8. On Da Block

I just remember how I felt when I first heard this. Deeper vibes from the beat. Some of my favourite MC’s at the time, with their own unique style. It wasn’t too bait either, which I love.

7. Lethal B – Forward 2

One of my favourite versions of forward. The beat is sooooo sick! Not my favourite in terms of MC’s, but they all done their thing! It worked.

6. Ribz, Napper, Flirta D, Shizzle – Pull Up Dat Forward

I can’t even put it into words. It’s too much. Screw-face vibes. kmt.

5. Fresh – Real-Ion

Sick concept. Top MC’s. Very nostalgic tune.

4. Roll Deep – Regular

One of my favourite ever eski-grime instrumentals, classic vocals. Nuff said.

3. Southside Allstars – Southside Riddim

One of the biggest tunes at the time of release. Channel U days. Brings back a lot of memories in school. “Yo… And I’m G to the I…” – wheel!!

2. Midlandz Mafia – Birmingham’s Not Dead

Have to pay homage to my hometown legends. This was an anthem back in the day.

1. C4 – Off Track BBK Mix

Come on… You know I had to lol.

And there you have it. Check out C4’s official pages for more music.
