Safe, a new 8 part drama series from American Thriller writer Harlan Coben, has been commissioned by Netflix and Canal+ Group.

Safe will star Michael C. Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under) and Amanda Abbington (Sherlock, Crooked House) and is written by Emmy and BAFTA Award winning writer Danny Brocklehurst (Ordinary Lies, The Driver, Shameless).

The drama will be set in a gated community and will focus on Tom (Hall) a widowed Pediatric surgeon and father to two teenage daughters, Jenny and Carrie. Though things appear to be going well Jenny sneaks out one evening to attend a party, that night there is a murder and a disappearance which causes long and well buried secrets to come to the surface.

Safe sounds as though it will be thoroughly gripping fare. With a quality cast, an award winning writer building on the work of an established and popular thriller writer, this drama has all the hallmarks of high end entertainment.
