Florida Georgia Line are celebrating with the news that God, Your Mama, And Me has given them their 13th career number one.
The song, which features Backstreet Boys, has peaked at the top of both Billboard and Country Aircheck/Mediabase Country Airplay charts this week. The song was written by Josh Kear, Hillary Lindsey and Gordie Sampson.
“Wow. Country radio, you have made this the best Monday morning,” shares Tyler Hubbard. “Finding out that ‘God, Your Mama, And Me’ went #1 is surreal – really cool to be a part of Backstreet Boys’ first Country #1!”
Brian Kelley adds, “If you told me growing up that I would share a #1 song with BSB, I would have told you to get outta here! Dream big, work hard, surround yourself with an amazing team and anything is possible.”
On paper the collaboration between Florida Georgia Line and Backstreet Boys shouldn’t work but the song is one of the best of both bands’ careers.
“We’re fans of each other and that’s one of the reasons why the song works so well,” says Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter. “I’m glad it’s with these boys that we just reached #1 at Country radio for the first time.”
God, Your Mama, And Me has been certified platinum and is the third single from their latest album Dig Your Roots. The song’s success means that all three songs released from the record so far – H.O.L.Y, May We All featuring Tim McGraw and God, Your Mama, And Me – have hit number one!
Earlier this month Florida Georgia Line kicked off The Smooth Tour 2017 with special guests Nelly and Chris Lane. They will be joined by Backstreet Boys for their first-ever run of stadium shows starting in July.
