Shania Twain, Take That announced for BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park

Country star Shania Twain and chart-topping boyband Take That have been announced as part of the line-up for this year’s BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park.

Taking place on Sunday 10th September 2017, BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park also features Blondie, James Blunt, Emeli SandƩ, Rick Astley, Seth Lakeman & Wildwood Kin, Stereophonics.

The line-up was announced this morning by Chris Evans on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show.

Shania Twain said, ā€œI canā€™t wait. Itā€™s been a long time. Iā€™m really excited about it. Iā€™ll play a couple of new songs but Iā€™ll stick primarily to the hits.ā€

Jeff Smith, Head of Music for Radio 2, said: ā€œIn this our 50th year we welcome an incredible line-up of world class artists and musicians who showcase the breadth of music played across BBC Radio 2. Listeners, viewers and the audience in the park will be treated to everything from rock and pop, to folk and country. Take That will be joined by two other acts also celebrating special anniversaries this year namely Stereophonics and Rick Astley plus weā€™re thrilled to be welcoming country music royalty, Shania Twain, for a rare UK appearance.ā€

BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park will be broadcast LIVE on BBC Radio 2. Fans will also be able to watch all the action LIVE on the BBC Red Button, on BBC iPlayer and via the Radio 2 website.

Tickets for the event go on sale tomorrow (Thursday 8 June) at 8am and information is available from bbc.co.uk/radio2.
