Jana Kramer has had success as an actress and a singer-songwriter, and today she’s making her C2C: Country to Country debut on the Yamaha Music Stage.
Before her performance, Jana sat down with the press to talk about her career and she told us that new music is on the way in the form of an EP.
‘We’re not taking our time but we’re also not rushing either. We’re actively looking for songs and going back into the writing room. We want the best possible music this go round.’
Continuing to talk music Jana explained the title of her latest record. ‘I was having a really hard time coming up with an album title. What better way to put it all out there than to say, this is my age? I will stop at 31!’
Jana had a big hit with I Got the Boy, which was co-written by Jamie Lynn Spears. ‘I love getting songs from other songwriters. I Got the Boy is a song I’d tried to write and I got it from other songwriters. Someone else wrote my story so much better. I still want to write things that are close to me but there are some of the most talented songwriters in Nashville.’
This is Jana’s first time performing at The O2 Arena. ‘I’ve never been here before but I’ve wanted to for such a long time.’
Opening up about touring Jana revealed, ‘We’ve been doing a club tour recently and I like doing those so you can take selfies with fans and get really close. I love them because you know they’ve come to see you.’
Jana also confirmed that acting is still part of her plans. ‘I still do acting. I like to blend them both but I don’t like to put in a box. I was a dancer for 3 months when I did Dancing With the Stars, but not any more (laughs).’
Jana Kramer performs at 8.10pm on the Yamaha Music Stage tonight as part of C2C: Country to Country.
