Brothers Osborne are opening up the Main Stage on the third and final day of C2C: Country to Country 2017.
Prior to their performance, the duo took some time to speak to the press about their career and gave a little hint about what we can expect from tonight’s show.
TJ revealed, ‘We’ve been playing music all of our lives and we grew up in a musical family. For the past four years we decided to form a duo.’
Tonight Brothers Osborne will be performing a full band show. ‘It’s a five piece band. I feel our record hints at a lot of genres and it certainly comes through during our live performance. There’s a heavy rock influence in our live shows.’
When asked about what constitutes Country music in the modern era, John said:
‘Country music takes a lot of shapes and forms. I think it’s good for every genre. You want to hear diversity and I think it’s in a good place. What makes Country stand out from other genres is the honesty. In Nashville it starts with just the song and that’s why the Bluebird is so integral to us.’
TJ also explained how he came to writing The Breaker, which is the title track from the new Little Big Town album:
We never really performed it, maybe once or twice. There are certain songs for me that feel very personal. All are personal to some extent but some of them in my mind I save for the Bluebird or the vaults. That one was sitting back there for a long time. It really came from a place of having had your heart broke a few times. When you really shatter someone else’s life it’s awful.’
Brothers Osborne open the Main Stage at 4.30pm tonight as part of C2C: Country to Country.
