The SSE Live Awards 2016 have crowned Matt Goss as the winner for The SSE Arena, Wembley.
The singer-songwriter and Bros frontman was voted number 1 by thousands of fans who voted for their favourite events of 2016 across all three of SSE’s sponsored entertainment venues; The SSE Arena, Wembley, The SSE Hydro and The SSE Arena, Belfast.
Matt Goss’ show took place at The SSE Arena, Wembley in October last year.
Matt Goss said: “When I was a kid I used to dream of playing Wembley. I’ll never forget the first time I walked in to this incredible venue to actually play there and realise that dream. I’m in awe and humbled that 30 years later not only can I still play this world class venue, but because of the loyalty and love of my fans, I’m honoured to win the best show of 2016 at The SSE Arena, Wembley in the SSE Live Awards. Longevity is the true meaning of success, let’s keep doing this!”
The top five acts at The SSE Arena, Wembley as voted for by fans, were:

4. Armaan Malik Live in Concert
5. Culture Club
Colin Banks, Head of Sponsorship & Reward for SSE, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the number of votes cast in this year’s SSE Live Awards. What has really been apparent this year is the number of fans coming back to vote again and again as they’re so passionate about their favourite act.
“The fans have really made their voices heard and I would like to say a huge well done to Matt Goss, whose clearly passionate fans made him the deserved winner.”
The SSE Live Awards took place throughout December and January. Fans voted online and over three million votes were cast over the two-month period.
The awards ran in SSE’s venues in Glasgow and Belfast too with Andy Murray Live, presented by SSE being confirmed winner at The SSE Hydro and Wet Wet Wet confirmed winners at The SSE Arena, Belfast.
