Archie (K. J. Apa) found himself between a rock and a hard place when it came to coming clean about what he heard the day of Jason Blossom’s (Trevor Stines) death on the latest episode of Riverdale.
Jughead (Cole Sprouse) saw Archie and Miss Grundy (Sarah Habel) in a compromising position and demanded that his former friend explain what he was doing. Archie told Jughead about his affair with Miss Grundy and revealed that he heard a gunshot the morning that Jason was killed.
After appealing to Miss Grundy to go to the police with him, Archie told her that he was going to tell them what he knew, with or without her.
Meanwhile Veronica (Camila Mendes) tried to suck up to Betty (Lili Reinhart) following her kiss with Archie but hit a brick wall when Betty instead chose to cosy up to Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch). Betty soon realised that Cheryl was using her for information and decided to make peace with Veronica and give her another chance.
Elsewhere it was revealed that Jason was shot days after he went missing, and Cheryl was arrested in front of her classmates.
The next episode of the season is Chapter Three: Body Double. After new information surrounding Jason’s death comes to light, Cheryl finds herself under a cloud of suspicion and forced to come clean about the last time she saw her brother.
