Robbie Williams will be the third recipient of the BRITs Icon Award it has been announced.
The star will follow in the footsteps of Elton John and David Bowie when he receives the highest accolade given by the BRIT Awards. To celebrate the award, Robbie will play an intimate one-off show at London’s Troxy on 7th November 2016. The event will be televised by ITV in a special 90-minute show to be aired in December.
Robbie said today: “It’s a real honour for me to be given this award and I can’t want to play songs from my new album, and from my catalogue, at the Troxy on 7th November. The BRIT Awards are very special to me, and I’m humbled to be receiving the 18th of my career next month.”
The BRITs Icon Awards is awarded to artists whose writing, recording and performances have set them apart as having made a lasting impact on British culture, recognising the very highest level of achievement in music.

Robbie will release his new album Heavy Entertainment Show on 4th November 2016.
