This Morningās showbiz reporter Alison Hammond will be swapping the red carpet for the ballroom as she gears up to take part in the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Why did she sign up to the show? āWell, first of all, fitness. I want to get my fitness really good. Secondly, I think itās a beautiful show. Itās a massive institution that Iāve always wanted to do. To be honest with you, Iāve asked maybe the last six years to do Strictly and then this year I didnāt ask and theyāre all over me. So the lesson in life is donāt ask ā youāll get it! Iām looking forward to the challenge of it, really. I hope Iām able to do it first of all and Iām a big girl, itās going to be tough on my body but Iām really excited to embrace the whole thing.ā
Whatās the most important thing sheās looking for in her dance partner? āIām looking for someone really hot. No, seriously, Iām looking for someone whoās going to teach me with fun because I canāt learn with anybody strict. I hope I get someone I can have fun with, whoāll push me, whoās a bit funky and whoās happy to try out some new shapes on the dance floor. ā
Alison admits that she loves dancing, āI love dancing! I dance at home in the living room but I can only dance for like, one minute. I just need to up that to two minutes for this, donāt I?! I love dancing, I love music but I donāt know how to dance properly, how these guys dance, like the foxtrot and the salsa and samba and all that. Technically, Iām not a good dancer, no. I just throw some shapes on the dance floor and see how it goes.ā
Strictly Come Dancing returns at 8pm Sunday on BBC One. Watch Alison’s launch interview below:
