Hollywood legend Lauren Bacall has died at the age of 89 it has been confirmed.
The film and stage actress is reported to have died after suffering a major stroke at her home in New York according to the BBC. The news of Bacallās death was posted on Twitter by Bacallās son.
Bacall was born in New York in 1924 and went on to become one of cinemaās most iconic stars. In 2009 Bacall received an honorary Oscar in recognition of her career.
The actress made her debut in To Have and Have Not which is where she met future husband Humphrey Bogart who sadly passed in 1957. The two appeared on screen in Key Largo, The Big Sleep and Dark Passage also.
In 1996 Bacall earned an Oscar nomination for her role in The Mirror Has Two Faces.
