Witches of East End returns to Lifetime UK for its second season next month.
The hit series will kick off its 13-episode run on Monday 25th August 2014 with a double-bill at 10pm. Witches of East End is based on Melissa de la Cruz’s bestseller of the same name and stars Julia Ormond, Madchen Amick, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Rachel Boston, Eric Winter and Daniel Di Tomasso.
New cast members for the second season include Christian Cooke and Stephen Berkoff.
Witches Of East End follows sisters Freya (DewanTatum) and Ingrid (Boston) Beauchamp as they discover that they have descended from a family of witches and possess ancient magical powers. With the help of their mother Joanna (Ormond) and Aunt Wendy (Amick), the first series saw the girls learn to cultivate their craft and keep their identities a secret from the sleepy seaside town in which they live. However, with the magical portal of Asgard opening, supernatural enemies start to seek revenge on their family.
Still struggling from the poison in her blood, Joanna remains very weak as her Wendy, Freya and Ingrid desperately search for a cure. Meanwhile, darkness surrounds the East End when a mysterious and unexpected stranger (Cooke) arrives in town. Will this surprising new addition be a hindrance or a help to the girls’ cause?
As if ancient grudges and mystical portals weren’t enough, Freya is also handling quandaries of the heart. Her ex-fiancé, Dash (Winter) is still devastated after being left at the altar, whilst brother Killian (Di Tomasso) seems to have a new love interest. Will Freya be able to manage her ongoing love triangle?
