The Railway Man DVD & Blu-ray release announced

The life of Eric Lomax is finally coming to home entertainment.

The Railway Man

Academy Award-winner Colin Firth leads a stellar cast in the captivating drama The Railway Man. Criminally overlooked at this years awards, this film (based on the best-selling autobiography of Eric Lomax) finally comes to DVD and Blu-ray on May 5th 2014 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

Chronicling Lomax’s experiences as a British Army Officer in a Japanese labour camp, the film provides a haunting and inspiring tale of heroism and redemption. It has a wonderful ensemble including Nicole Kidman, Jeremy Irvine and Hiroyuki Sanada.

Directed by Jonathan Teplitzky (Burning Man), The Railway Man tells the story of Eric Lomax (Jeremy Irvine), serving in the Second World War when he is captured and held prisoner by the Japanese. Brutally tortured and forced, along with his fellow captives, to build the Thai-Burma Railway, he is left traumatised and uncommunicative for years to come, despite the best efforts of his wife (Nicole Kidman).
