Blackpowder Games launching Betrayer March 24th

Betrayer is an eerie first person action/adventure title in which players traverse a mysteriously abandoned New World colony in 1604, trying to piece together what happened to its inhabitants and survive the supernatural threats they encountered along the way.

Betrayer features a unique monochrome aesthetic but we hear that this can also be turned off if you wish. The game has been available on Steam Early Access for a while now and can still be purchased for the early access price of £11.99. Expect this to rise to around £15 when it launches on March 24th.

Blackpowder games features many ex-Monolith Productions team members. Between them they have an impressive array of experience gained by working on titles such as F.E.A.R, No One Lives Forever and Shogo: Mobile Armor Division.
Since shipping FEAR almost 10 years ago, we’ve been wanting to create a player-driven game that emphasizes exploration and discovery with minimal hand-holding. We’re ecstatic to finally get the chance.

Ultimately, what we’re proudest of is that Betrayer is distinctive. When you’re setting out to create a first person action game with seven people, the biggest fear is that you’ll make something redundant: a cheap version of a bigger, better title. But I feel confident saying you haven’t played anything quite like this.
