Sol3 Mio head to the UK to release debut album

The opera-singing trio to release their album in April.

Sol3 Mio

Sol3 Mio are heading to the UK after signing a record deal with Decca.

The Samoan New Zealand trio are made up of two tenor brothers Pene and Amitai Pati, and their baritone cousin Moses Mackay. Their debut album reached 5 x Platinum sales in just 6 weeks in their native New Zealand making it the biggest-selling album of last year.

The trio first performed together to bid farewell to Pene when he was selected to attend the prestigious Wales International Academy of Voice. An audience member who witnessed the performance suggested they should become a group and after intially laughing off the idea, they decided to make a go of it.

President of Decca Records, Dickon Stainer, describes this as “The arrival of the next global superstars in mainstream classical music”
