Linkin Park set to play Download

Festival reveals more bands.

Download have announced a slew of new bands for the festival which includes Black Label Society, Killswitch Engage, Opeth and many more are joining the like of headliners American metal band Avenged Sevenfold, nu-metal leaders Linkin Park who are performing Hybrid Theory in full and hard rock hero’s Aerosmith.

With the Download line up filling up quickly, everyone has something to go for weather its catching up with friends and reminiscing the days when music was better and watching Aerosmith from the wheelchair or whether you want to get down and dirty with Suicide Silence and get in the pit Download has something to offer everyone.

Even with the controversial announcement of Avenged Sevenfold and Linkin Park with many people asking the question if they can cut the mustard? This is perhaps the most divided Download yet. Do the headliners perhaps have more of a place at Reading and Leeds than Download or is Andy Copping really trying to put Download on the map for all to see?

Only time will tell on this very divided of questions.

Over the space of 3 days, the bands include:

Rob Zombie

The Offspring

Status Quo

Alter Bridge

Steel Panther

Dying Fetus

Suicide Silence

And In Flames

More acts are to be announced in the coming weeks. For all the latest follow Download Festival on Twitter at and Facebook at
