Leo Abrahams – Zero Sum album review

Released on March 4th, Zero Sum was written whilst Leo was producing records for artists such as Carl Barat and Paolo Nutini. Leo will also be touring with Pulp as their guest guitarist after the band reformed recently.

Leo Abrahams recorded his new album Zero Sum, whilst producing records for the likes of Carl Barat and Paolo Nutini. Abrahams will also be touring with Pulp this year as their guest guitarist. So what does Zero Sum sound like? Here is what we thought.

First up is That’s What You Do a dreamy start to the record. There is something really enjoyable about the track and how nostalgic it sounds. We love Abrahams heartfelt vocals and the exotic side of his music.

Winter Kiss certainly sounds exotic and Abrahams dreamy vocals add to the texture of the song. There is something quite dark about this track, which gives it a little mystery. No More Unto Silence is quite similar.

Sleep Here is another dark track but with a much needed uplifting chorus. We like the simplicity of this track.

One track that stands out on the album is A Different Kind Of Wrong. This track stands out with its slightly more upbeat tempo, a fresher sound and Abrahams has left his dreamy vocals behind. The chorus is mellow and peaceful which works.

Last on the album is Time Take Me Back, which starts with a rather melancholic guitar riff. There is something quite exquisite about the track and its hypnotic verses.

Leo Abrahams album is interesting and quite intense. As a whole album it feels a little too dense at times and quite heavy but there are good moment.
