Flatland Cavalry announce new album ‘Work of Heart’ arriving in March

Flatland Cavalry have announced their fifth full-length studio album, ‘Work of Heart,' set for release March 27 via Lost Highway. The critically acclaimed Texas-rooted six-piece continue to expand their musical horizons on the new project while holding firmly to the warm, emotionally resonant sound that has defined their rise. Recorded at Matchbox Studios in Austin with producer Dwight A. Baker, the album brings together what the band describe as a panoramic collection of songs shaped by life, love and loss. The sessions resulted in 12 tracks that move between stargazing slow dances, small-town heartbreak stories and moments of quiet introspection, all tied together by the band’s unmistakable West Texas perspective. Frontman Cleto Cordero says the songs were gathered over a period of living, learning and growing, with his approach unchanged: showing up to write with heart, mind and soul fully engaged.

‘Work of Heart' explores memory, presence and the passage of time, touching on the emotional fingerprints life leaves behind while embracing both past and future. Cordero notes that music has a unique way of grounding listeners in the present while simultaneously stirring memories and reflection, a balance that sits at the core of this new collection.

The record arrives March 27, marking the next chapter for a band that continues to blend thoughtful songwriting with the expansive emotional landscape of modern country and roots music.
