Myself and Kezia wrote this song in the throes of lockdown via Zoom. We wanted to write a song about the gut-wrenching moment a relationship ends and you realize while you thought you were happy, they were planning on saying goodbye. We wanted to touch on the realization that in every breakup, there’s one person who knows what’s coming and another who hasn’t a clue.”
Helliwell praised the collaborative process with Kezia, adding, “Kezia is one of my absolute best friends, and I have so much admiration for her musically. To team up writing this was incredible, and the experience of recording together was wonderful. I’m so proud of this song and the reaction it gets when we play it live. I can’t wait to finally have the recorded song out in the world.”

It was only the second time I’d co-written in this way, and I wasn’t a fan of writing through a laptop screen, but I’m so glad we did because this is one of my favorite songs I’ve been a part of creating. It’s a song about the end of a relationship and how one person will always know first that things are over. It can feel like a bolt from the blue for the other person, and the question of ‘How long have you known?’ is inevitable.”

It always gets such a great reaction from audiences, and I believe this is due to the relatability of the song and Jade Helliwell’s powerhouse vocals and phenomenal big note in the final chorus.
